Zain, who is nine years and 11 months old, only learned he had broken the record when he reached the summit.Zain said:
“I'm still tired now. I was really happy to get to the top. We had been training for so long. I’m still tired now.”

The accountant, from Holland Park, West London, said: “I’m incredibly proud. They were always up at the front with the guides.

“I was more nervous for myself, to be honest.

"I'm so thrilled and incredibly proud of what the boys have achieved. It was a real achievement for all of us.

The previous record was held by Jack Rea, who climbed the peak aged 10.

The family took part in the expedition to raise funds for schooling projects in Africa.
