A tragic young mum who wanted to have a bigger bottom has died following complications from her cosmetic surgery.
The heartbreaking story of Katherine Castano Orozco has been revealed as she passed away after suffering health problems - 20 days after having an operation to put silicon padding into her backside.
The fixated 30-year-old Colombian had an ideal figure but was keen to have a bigger bottom.
In recent years there have been a number of deaths from similar surgery as women - inspired by celebrities like Kim Kardashian - seek to boost the size and shape of their bottoms.
Katherine was the latest casualty of a trend for enlarging bums which almost claimed the life of Brazilian Miss Bum Bum model earlier this year.
And last October Brit Joy Williams tragically died getting bottom-boosting surgery in Thailand.
The incident happened in the city of Santiago de Cali, in the west Colombian department of Valle del Cauca.
An autopsy is being done but medical reports indicate she suffered from a vein infection and from blood clots.
The condition is called thrombophlebitis and often occurs in the legs.
The Health Ministry in the city, usually known as Cali have launched an investigation into her sudden death.
The mum-of-one's relatives said that she had been bleeding, which had worsened over time before they realised that something was seriously wrong.
Katherine lived in the north of the city of Cali and was a housewife with a five-year-old son. May her soul rest in peace.
